Deep melodic. Obscure. NJ based Amiti aims to create the type of music that allows listeners to let go, dance and explore their inner dark side. Composed of David Soto and Mateo Restrepo, the duo bonded over their shared affinity for electronic music. At house parties, the two would hang out and play music together. Not long after, they both discovered that their different tastes in music actually complemented one another - when combined together, they created a distinct sound that people could get lost into. Their differences also meant that their respective preference ensures that their studio work and performance are equally well covered. That's when the self-taught duo decided to team up and pursue a career in music. In October 2016, a musical partnership was born between David and Mateo, which further cemented their friendship - or as they say, Amity. They adopted the word and as a nod to their Colombian roots, they gave it a Spanish twist by changing the y with an i.
